The Festive season is here! We have cracked open our advent calendars and it is now acceptable to drink mulled wine nearly every day, so we will be offering a festive twist to all of our recipes throughout December to ensure you are prepared for a magical Christmas with loved ones!
When we think Christmas food, the first thing which comes to mind has to be Pigs in Blankets, perhaps the nations favourite? Here we share a few of our favourite twists on an already great classic…
DEVILS ON HORSEBACK
A nice fruity alternative, by replacing the chipolata with a date, gives a lovely Christmassy flavour. Try adding a walnut in the centre or almond for an extra delicious crunch!
HALLOUMI BLANKETS
Everyone loves halloumi so why not add a chunk of halloumi, wrapped in bacon. Adding a little sweet relish also makes for a flavoursome mouthful! For a vegetarian alternative you could wrap in a crisp puff pastry blanket or try a thin slice of courgette, seasoned with salt and pepper!
SPANISH STYLE
Replace the chipolata with chorizo and wrap in Parma ham instead of bacon, a great twist which we promise is just as addictive. We like to enjoy these with a rich tomato dipping sauce!
